Jobs we undertake
- Splitting the template design into two parts: the top and the bottom sections (files header.php and footer.php).
- Making up the main CSS file (styles.css) containing the Bitrix standard styles. Adding comments to styles for use with the visual HTML editor.
- Allocating editable include areas: copyright area, company name, contact information etc.
- Allocating the menu sections and creating individual menu templates. (Note: if the selected design presumes the use of a drop-down menu, it is implemented using the script shipped with the trial version of the Bitrix Site Manager. Common static menu (which is not drop-down) can be replaced with the drop-down solution at the customer’s request).
- Implementing the navigation chain.
- Enabling the authorization form.
- Enabling the standard search function and the form (for the trial version - with redirect to a standard function page).
- Enabling the newsletter subscription form (if you purchase Professional or Enterprise edition, the subscription form preserves all the functions while redirecting to a common subscription page which is shipped with the trial version).
- Allocating editable include areas with static content (according to the selected design template). Making up individual templates (if possible).
- Allocating the advertisement sections (1 to 3) provided by the trial version.
- Adding the shopping cart component linked to a personal section (only if versions “Small Business” or “Enerprise” are purchased).
- The template for Bitrix Site Manager is implemented using the original design template (source files from the TemplateMonsters.com) using its dimensions and layout. If the original design stipulates fixed width or height, you may encounter gaps or other design defects if using some Bitrix Site Manager components (e.g. forum, helpdesk etc.)
- The template code is updated to display the following additional elements:
- the main page title and the alternative page title (for more optimization with search engines);
- keywords;
- page description;
- style sheets;
- the administrative toolbar.
- If the design template includes different design styles for different pages, the template should include code to switch between designs depending on the section or page properties. If the property-based switching between designs cannot be implemented, two different templates are created: for the main page and for other pages.
- Newsfeed display as well as the design and parameters customization is implemented using links in the format of the trial version. This kind of adjustments are performed for the Standard version (if only the product is purchased from this site).
A visual aspect of the Bitrix components can be customized, for example: push button controls are replaced with their graphic analogs, HTML layout is changed. The component logics cannot be modified.

Technical recommendations
- Creating menus. Both text and graphic menus can be implemented. Text menus are recommended. If text menus are unfeasible or not acceptable, the menu template is supplied with graphical elements to display menu items; their titles or style are not changed.
Using text menus simplifies the site management because they do not require redrawing menu items when their titles change.
In addition, the menu is enhanced with the active item highlighting (if the design does not provide it).
- Include areas. Copyright sections, sections with supplementary navigation (main page, site map, search page), contact information sections are implemented as the include areas.
- Site image paths. All image paths are built using the SITE_TEMPLATE_ID variable. This approach simplifies the use of the template if its ID or parent folder name change.
- Links. Links are built using the SITE_DIR variable. This allows using the template for different sites without having to edit paths to individual pages.
- Distribution. The ready template is shipped as an archive of the containing folder. Alternatively, if required, with the deployed installation package. This is applicable if only purchasing the Bitrix Site Manager with the template.
